Union Bank provides several services for Overdraft Protection and Overdraft Coverage to help you avoid returned transactions and other added fees.
Overdraft services that protect you against overdrafts (Overdraft Protection) may be less costly than services that may charge you an Overdraft Fee for each Debit we pay (Overdraft Coverage).
With Overdraft Protection, you authorize us to move funds from your eligible deposit account, or credit line to pay the Debit. An overdraft is avoided and there is a single fee each day a transfer or credit line advance is made – no matter how many Debits were paid.
With Overdraft Coverage, we may pay your transactions and charge you an Overdraft Fee for each Debit paid. In some cases, you may still be charged an Overdraft Fee even if the transaction is not paid. It’s also possible that the person or company you were trying to pay may charge you additional fees.
See also our Personal Accounts & Services Disclosure and Agreement and Personal Accounts Fee Schedule for more information.
A combined balance is the total balance in one or more eligible accounts that you have asked us to link to your primary checking account. For example, if you have $2,000 in your checking account and $3,500 in your linked savings account, your combined balance is $5,500.
