UNION BANK HONORED BY ASSOCIATION OF FUNDRAISING PROFESSIONALS
For Immediate Release
Bank Named Outstanding Corporation
Los Angeles, November 10, 2009 -- Union Bank, N.A., was honored by the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Los Angeles Chapter as Outstanding Corporation or Corporate Foundation at its 24th Annual National Philanthropy Day Awards luncheon held at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles November 9, 2009.
Nominated independently by two of its nonprofit partners, Goodwill Industries and California State Summer School for the Arts, Union Bank was recognized for its exceptional service and dedication to these two organizations, and for its philanthropic efforts within the greater Los Angeles community.
"At Union Bank, volunteerism is woven into the fabric of our bank," said Carl A. Ballton, president and COO of the Union Bank Foundation, who accepted the award. "It is an honor to receive this highly coveted award and be recognized along with other outstanding organizations for our philanthropic accomplishments."
Union Bank met AFP's award criteria by demonstrating a commitment to philanthropy through financial support and leadership involvement, volunteer participation and a dedication to the communities in which it serves, and through establishing itself as a role model and motivator for other businesses.
The National Philanthropy Day Awards Luncheon is an annual event recognizing and honoring selfless companies and individuals who consistently strive to make positive contributions to the community.
