Branch Team Brings Years of Banking Experience and Strong Community Focus
to Serve Customers in the Blossom Hill Area
SAN FRANCISCO, November 7, 2011 – Union Bank, N.A. today announced the opening of a new branch in San Jose, located at 1110 Blossom Hill Road, Suite 40. The full-service banking office marks the eighth branch in San Jose for Union Bank. The office is overseen by Branch Manager David Machado, who is responsible for cultivating an overall customer base, developing new relationships with consumers and small businesses in the community, and leading the team of locally based bankers with strong ties to the community.

Machado brings 34 years of banking experience to his new role as branch manager. Prior to Union Bank, he worked with US Bank and Washington Mutual where he served as vice president and branch manager. He is an active member of several local organizations including Dancing on the Avenue, the Annual Founder’s Day Parade, and Walk to School. Machado also serves as president of the Willow Glen Business Association and is a member of the American Legion.
Kristine Abdelmalak serves as senior relationship banker with 12 years of industry experience. Most recently she served as senior relationship banker for Union Bank’s Palo Alto branch. Prior to Union Bank, Abdelmalak worked at Citibank as a customer service manager. Engaged in the community, Abdelmalak volunteers with Simonds Elementary School and St. George & St. Joseph Coptic Orthodox Church. She also holds series 6 and 63 licenses.
Sapna Shah serves as customer service manager, with 12 years of industry experience. Prior to Union Bank, Shah worked at Bank of America as an assistant manager. Engaged in San Jose’s community, she volunteers with Second Harvest Food Bank and Simonds Elementary School.
