We applaud the generosity and enthusiasm of our employees and support it through our Giving Back program, dedicated to facilitating employee giving and volunteering.
In 2014, Union Bank, N.A. continued to match employee contributions at 66 2/3 cents per dollar to a maximum amount of $2,500 per employee for the My Giving – All Charities Matching Gift Program, and dollar per dollar up to $1,000 per employee as part of the My Giving - Education Matching Gift Program. Employees donated over $1,000,000 which the Bank matched at $845,211, bringing the grand total to $2,258,898 for 2014.
MUFG Union Bank, N.A. will begin a new program to match employee contributions at a dollar for dollar match to a maximum amount of $2,500 per employee through the My Giving – Matching Gift Program in 2015.
As part of our mission to proactively invest in the communities in which we operate, we set 70,000 hours of employee volunteer service as our goal for 2014. Our employees tracked a total of 74,968 hours in 2014, exceeding the original goal by 7%.
Of the 74,968 volunteer hours, 11,024 hours, or 15%, were devoted to financial literacy. Board service hours accounted for another 30% of total volunteer hours at 22,262.
