Women's History Month
As part of the Union Bank Heritage Month celebrations, we are proud to sponsor the Cultural Diversity Partnership Awards and to honor various individuals for their positive contributions and influence they have made to women.
The honorees will be formally recognized as part of the Cultural Diversity Partnership Awards, which Union Bank partners with public television station KPBS. The station will also broadcast video profiles of the honorees throughout its Women's History Month programming from March 1 through 31.

North County Health Services
San Marcos, CA
For more than 11 years, Irma Cota has served as president and chief executive officer of the North County Health Services (NCHS), a non-profit community health care organization providing health care in the northern region of San Diego County. Under her direction, NCHS serves more than 60,000 individuals annually at 11 clinic locations, providing comprehensive medical, dental, mental health, and health education services. She also oversees a WIC program serving nearly 12,000 women and children as well as a county-wide HIV case management program. She serves on numerous boards for organizations such as the National Cooperative Bank, Council of Community Clinics in San Diego, and others. Ms. Cota has also received many honors, including recognition by The San Diego Business Journal as one of the region's "Women Who Mean Business" and San Diego County's Public Health Champion Award.

Shahri Estakhry has found her life's passion in volunteer work and humanitarian causes for more than 20 years. She is the founder of the Iranian School of San Diego, whose goal is to provide Iranian-American children with a better understanding of the Iranian culture and the Persian language and to provide them with pride in their rich heritage. Ms. Estakhry is also co-founder of the Persian Cultural Center of San Diego, renowned for the outstanding performing arts and education programs it provides. She developed the Iranian-American Scholarship Fund that provides scholarships to students of Iranian heritage who exhibit academic excellence, and she also created the Dollar-a-Month Fund, a non-profit charity that has helped improve the living conditions of disadvantaged children around the globe. In 2009 Ms. Estakhry was a San Diego Magazine "Woman of the Year" nominee.
