Vice President, Senior Commercial Real Estate Loan Officer

Brandon Bemis serves as vice president and senior loan officer for the Commercial Mortgage Division with MUFG Union Bank, N.A. He specializes in originating, underwriting and closing of multi-family and manufactured housing community loans from $1Million to $30Million located in the Pacific Northwest Region, Washington and Oregon.

Mr. Bemis has 19 years in the mortgage industry. Prior to joining Union Bank in 2006, he served as a branch manager and lending consultant where he managed commercial and residential loan transactions throughout the United States. At Union Bank he has been recognized as a top producer for the past five years and he has funded approximately One Billion in total commercial loan production.

Active in his community, Mr. Bemis is a member of the Manufactured Housing Communities of Washington (MHCW) and attends (CCIM) Certified Commercial Investment Member networking events. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Washington.

Dan Williams

Vice President, Senior Commercial Real Estate Loan Officer

Dan Williams serves as vice president and senior loan officer for the Commercial Mortgage Division with MUFG Union Bank, N.A. He is responsible for originating, underwriting and closing loans secured by income producing properties including retail, residential, industrial and office properties for the bank’s Commercial Mortgage Division in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Mr. Williams is an industry veteran with over 25 years of banking and real estate experience. Before joining Union Bank in 2011, he served as a commercial loan originator with Bridger Commercial Funding as well as GE Capital. He has also served as a commercial underwriter for Wells Fargo Bank, a commercial appraiser with CBRE, and a collateral analyst for the Federal Home Loan Bank.

Active in the community, Mr. Williams is a member of the Bay Area Mortgage Association, and the San Rafael Elks Lodge.  He received his bachelor’s degree in Business Finance from San Francisco State University.

David Farkas - Vice President, Senior Commercial Real Estate Loan Officer

David B. Farkas

Vice President, Senior Commercial Real Estate Loan Officer

David B. Farkas serves as vice president and senior loan officer for the Commercial Mortgage Division with MUFG Union Bank, N.A. Based in Woodland Hills, CA, he is responsible for originating, underwriting and closing permanent financing on stabilized multi-tenant investment and multifamily properties.

Mr. Farkas has 35 years of commercial real estate industry experience. Before joining Union Bank in 2011, he served as Vice President with Citizens Business Bank, where he originated commercial real estate loans in Southern California. Prior to that, Mr. Farkas served as Senior Vice President with Countrywide Financial Corp. where he developed a program which focused on loans from $1MM-$10MM on investment properties throughout the continental U.S.

Previously, Mr. Farkas served as Vice President with Sunrise Mortgage & Investment Company where he was responsible for originating commercial real estate loans for life insurance companies, pension funds, commercial banks and commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS) lenders. Prior to that, was a Vice President with Pacific Crest Bank. Mr. Farkas began his career as an acquisition specialist with the La Mancha Development Company.

Engaged in the community, Mr. Farkas served on the Board of Directors of the San Gabriel Valley Chapter of the California Association of Mortgage Brokers. He was a member of the Social Services Funding Committee for the City of Thousand Oaks. In addition, he served as the co-chairman of the Paul Runyan Memorial Orthopedic Hospital Golf Tournament and as a committee member for the Orthopedic Institute for Children’s annual toy drive.

Mr. Farkas holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Ron D. Hernandez

Director, Senior Commercial Real Estate Loan Officer

Ron D. Hernandez serves as director and senior loan officer for the Commercial Mortgage Division with MUFG Union Bank, N.A. Based in Southern California, he is responsible for commercial and multi-family loan originations and underwriting.

An industry veteran, Mr. Hernandez has 30 years of banking experience. Prior to joining Union Bank in 1994, he served as a senior vice president and business development manager with First Fidelity Bank. Prior to that, he was a vice president and area manager for loan originations with Topa Savings Bank.

Mr. Hernandez is a member of the Mortgage Bankers Association, California Mortgage Bankers Association, Western Manufactured Housing Communities Association, and All-Star Income Property Lending Group

Active in the community, Mr. Hernandez is a golf and softball coach for his local Special Olympics Chapter, as well as a volunteer Youth Sports coach.

Mr. Hernandez holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from San Diego State University.

Steven Myers serves as vice president and senior loan officer for the Commercial Mortgage Division with MUFG Union Bank, N.A. Located in Brea, CA, he is responsible for originating, underwriting and closing loans secured by income producing properties including: apartment buildings, mobile home parks, retail, residential, industrial and office properties for the bank’s Commercial Mortgage Division.

Mr. Myers has 18 years of industry experience. He joined the bank’s Commercial Mortgage Division in Brea in 2002 as an asset manager and then served as a commercial loan officer. In 2004, he became vice president and senior commercial loan officer for the Commercial Mortgage Division in Las Vegas, NV, where he served in that role until 2010. Mr. Myers then returned to the Brea office to take on his current position and earned the title of number one multifamily loan originator for the 2014 fiscal year with more than $90MM in loan production, setting a new Commercial Mortgage Division origination record. Mr. Myers retained his title as the number one loan originator in 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 & 2019 producing more than $107MM, $90MM, $96MM, $130MM & $213MM in loan originations, respectively. Mr. Myers has been recognized as one of MUFG Americas 100 Top Producers (out of more than 14,000 employees) in addition to being a member of Union Bank’s President's Club.

Mr. Myers is a member of the Mortgage Bankers Association and the California Mortgage Bankers Association. He received his degree in business administration from the University of La Verne.

Alan Risch

Alan Risch serves as vice president and senior loan officer for the Commercial Mortgage Division with MUFG Union Bank, N.A. Based in Los Angeles, CA, he is responsible for originating loans secured by investment properties.

Mr. Risch has 27 years of commercial lending experience. Prior to joining Union Bank in 1994, he was a vice president at Jackson Federal Bank. Previously, he served as a vice president at Highland Federal Bank, and as a loan officer with American Savings Bank and Southern California Savings & Loan.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Southern California.

Chuck Weinhardt serves as vice president and senior loan officer for the Commercial Mortgage Division with MUFG Union Bank, N.A. He is responsible for originating, underwriting and closing loans secured by income producing properties. These properties include; apartment buildings, mobile home parks and retail, industrial & office properties, for the bank’s Commercial Mortgage Division. Additional responsibilities include, assisting in formulating underwriting guidelines / procedures and loan program development.

Mr. Weinhardt is an industry veteran with 30 years of banking experience. He joined Union Bank in 1994 as Vice President and Senior Commercial Loan Officer. Prior to joining Union Bank, Mr. Weinhardt served as a Commercial Loan Officer with Jackson Federal Bank.

Active in the community, Mr. Weinhardt volunteers for the Capistrano Unified School District and Food on Foot. He is a member of the Mortgage Bankers Association, California Mortgage Bankers Association, and the California Board of Accountancy.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in business finance from Michigan State University and obtained his Certified Public Accountant’s license in 1989.

Dave Moehring

Vice President, Senior Commercial Real Estate Loan Officer

Dave Moehring serves as vice president and senior loan officer for the Commercial Mortgage Division with MUFG Union Bank, N.A. He is responsible for directing and coordinating the retail, industrial and office loan programs for the bank’s Commercial Mortgage Division and providing mentoring and career development to young professionals within the Commercial Mortgage Division.

Mr. Moehring is an industry veteran with over 40 years of commercial real estate banking experience. Before joining Union Bank in 2011, Mr. Moehring served as a franchise marketing team leader for the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) where he was responsible for preparing research and directing efforts to market failed financial institutions to acquiring institutions. Prior to that, he served as a vice president with Pacific Capital Bank where he was responsible for originating commercial real estate loans across the United States.

Previously, he served as senior director for GMAC Commercial Mortgage where he opened and directed the west coast office of the small loan commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS) program. Mr. Moehring also served as vice president with Southern Pacific Bank where he managed loan production and closings in the Irvine office, and oversaw multifamily and commercial real estate lending.

Active in the community, Mr. Moehring has served as Booster Club president of the Trabuco Hills High School Instrumental Music Program. He has also served as a mentor in the Chapman University joint Law/MBA mentor program and as a judge for the DECA International Career Development Conference.

He holds a bachelor’s degree from Springfield College and a master’s degree from the University of California, Los Angeles.
