MUFG Americas Holdings Corporation Announces Full Redemption of Senior Notes due 2020 and Partial Redemption of Senior Notes due 2025

New York — MUFG Americas Holdings Corporation announced today that it will redeem the entire outstanding principal amount of its 2.250% Senior Notes due 2020 (the "2020 Notes") and $100 million of the outstanding principal amount of its 3.000% Senior Notes due 2025 (the "2025 Notes" and, together with the 2020 Notes, the "Notes"). The redemption date for the Notes is November 8, 2018. The aggregate principal amount of the 2020 Notes outstanding is $1.0 billion and the aggregate principal amount of the 2025 Notes outstanding is $500 million (which will leave $400 million of the 2025 Notes outstanding after this redemption). The redemption price for each series of Notes will include a make-whole premium, which will be calculated three business days prior to the redemption date in accordance with the terms of the Notes and related indenture, and will include accrued and unpaid interest on the Notes up to and including the redemption date.

Notices of redemption are being sent to all currently registered holders of the Notes by the trustee, The Bank of New York Mellon Trust Company, N.A.
