President & CEO, MUFG Americas Holdings Corporation and MUFG Union Bank, N.A.
Kevin Cronin is President and CEO of MUFG Americas Holdings Corporation and MUFG Union Bank, N.A. He is also CEO for the Americas and Regional Executive for MUFG and MUFG Bank, Ltd., with oversight of control functions in Latin America, Canada, and the United States. Mr. Cronin is a member of the Board of Directors of MUFG Americas Holdings Corporation and MUFG Union Bank, N.A, and the Executive Committee of the Americas. He is based in the company's New York headquarters. His appointments were effective March 31, 2021.
Mr. Cronin was previously the Head of MUFG's Global Corporate and Investment Bank in the Americas (GCIB). GCIB manages client relationships across all major industry verticals and delivers a full suite of corporate lending, structured lending, capital markets, and transaction banking capabilities to large and mid-corporate clients. Under Mr. Cronin's leadership, GCIB produced consistent growth, becoming an increasingly important earnings contributor to MUFG in the Americas and globally.
Prior to joining MUFG in 2011, Mr. Cronin spent more than 20 years at Bank of America and its predecessor firms, where he held senior roles leading U.S. corporate banking, transaction banking, and loan syndications. He was also a member of the merger integration team following the acquisition of Merrill Lynch. Mr. Cronin began his career at Union Bank as a middle-market commercial loan officer.
Mr. Cronin holds a BS in Business Administration from Boston University and an MBA from Babson College.
Michael F. Coyne
Michael F. Coyne is the General Counsel and senior legal officer for the Americas, which includes MUFG Americas Holdings Corporation and its primary subsidiary, MUFG Union Bank, N.A. He is also an Executive Officer of Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, Inc. and MUFG Bank, Ltd. Prior to joining MUFG Union Bank in 2013, Mr. Coyne spent 21 years at JPMorgan Chase & Co., rising to Senior Vice President, Associate General Counsel and Co-Head of Litigation, responsible for all of litigation and governmental investigation matters affecting the bank's businesses worldwide. In 1983, he joined Rogers & Wells, a New-York based international law firm, specializing in securities, corporate and commercial and real estate litigation. In addition to being a member of the New York State Bar, Mr. Coyne is a member of the Managing Board of The Clearing House Association, the General Counsels' Committee of the Bank Policy Institute and Co-Chair of the General Counsel Roundtable Committee of the Institute of International Bankers.
Head of Regulatory Operations & Affairs
Carolyn DuChene is a former regulator who has spent more than 30 years of her career with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC). She is Head of Regulatory Operations & Affairs for MUFG Americas Holdings Corporation and its U.S. banking subsidiary, MUFG Union Bank, N.A., and is a member of the Executive Committee for the Americas.
She focuses on accelerating and operationalizing our regulatory remediation efforts, influencing organizational coordination and strategy, and enhancing the ability to positively influence the bank’s standing with key regulators. In this expanded role she will have full oversight of Enterprise Regulatory Program Management.
Carolyn joined MUFG in 2021 to lead Regulatory Operations & Affairs, which is responsible for navigating expanding regulatory requirements and increasing scrutiny around how issues are resolved.
Prior to joining MUFG, she most recently served as Examiner in Charge in Large Bank Supervision with the OCC, where she was responsible for the supervisory oversight of a large financial institution with foreign ownership and all that entails. Previously, she was Deputy Comptroller for Operational Risk and Core Policy, where she was the lead advisor to the Senior Deputy Comptroller, the Chief National Bank Examiner, and the Comptroller on major policy issues affecting operational risk, information technology, payments, governance, and the agency’s core bank supervision by risk framework.
Carolyn received her bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Economics from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa
Chief Risk Officer for the Americas
Brian Gunn is Chief Risk Officer for the Americas, which includes MUFG Americas Holdings Corporation and its primary U.S. banking subsidiary, MUFG Union Bank, N.A. Mr. Gunn is responsible for providing strategic direction for risk management for the Americas, including enterprise-wide risk, credit, compliance, and business security for MUFG’s operations in the U.S., Latin America, and Canada. He is also responsible for instituting sustainable risk programs in technology and data governance, continuing the integration of the risk function across the Americas, and meeting regulatory deliverables.
Mr. Gunn has over 25 years of experience in risk management at large financial institutions, which includes Chief Risk Officer positions at Santander Holdings USA, Ally Financial, and GE Money Canada, a subsidiary of GE Capital. During his career, he successfully led risk organizations through complex business transformation efforts, remediation programs to address significant regulatory issues, and enterprise and cultural change initiatives. Prior to joining MUFG, Mr. Gunn served as a Senior Advisor at Oliver Wyman, a global management consulting firm, and provided strategic counsel to institutional clients in the banking industry on risk and regulatory management issues, including navigating the COVID-19 pandemic across various product classes.
Mr. Gunn holds a B.S. in Finance from Providence College and an M.B.A. from Hofstra University’s Frank G. Zarb School of Business. Additionally, since 2019, he has served as a member of the advisory board of the Child Guidance Center of Southern Connecticut (CGC), which is dedicated to improving the mental and behavioral health of children and teenagers through treatment, education, and community support.
Chief Financial Officer
Neal Holland serves as Chief Financial Officer for MUFG Americas Holdings Corporation and its primary banking subsidiary, MUFG Union Bank, N.A. In this role, Mr. Holland leads the Financial Management team for the Americas, which includes Corporate Treasury, Corporate Finance, Financial Planning and Analysis, Procurement, Accounting, and Risk Management. He is a member of the Executive Committee for the Americas and is a Policy-Making Officer.
He previously served as Chief Financial Officer for Union Bank and Deputy Chief Financial Officer for MUFG Americas Holdings Corporation from July 2020 to May 2021. Prior to these roles, Mr. Holland was Controller and Chief Accounting Officer for MUFG Americas beginning in 2018. In that role he was responsible for Corporate Accounting, Tax, Transfer Pricing, Business Unit Risk Management, SOX Compliance, and many other matters relating to general accounting.
Since 2008, Mr. Holland has held several key financial positions in the company including leading the FP&A organization and managing Finance and Strategy for the Regional Bank.
Prior to joining MUFG, Mr. Holland was Executive Vice President of Countrywide Bank’s Direct Bank; a Senior Consultant in Deloitte & Touche’s Global Capital Markets group and a Senior Auditor at Deloitte & Touche.
Mr. Holland is a cum laude graduate of the University of Washington, where he received a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, with concentrations in both Accounting and Information Systems. He holds a CFA charter and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Chief of Staff
Rui Koike is Chief of Staff for the Americas at MUFG Bank, Ltd., and MUFG Americas Holdings Corporation. He assumed this New York-based position in April 2022. Mr. Koike also holds the position of Executive Officer at MUFG and MUFG Bank.
Prior to this appointment, Mr. Koike was Global Head of Planning for the Global Financial Crimes Division in Tokyo since March 2019. He has more than 27 years of experience in banking, having worked in Japan and the United States while developing his career in strategic planning, organizational development and change management.
From 2001 to 2019, Mr. Koike held a number of senior roles across multiple divisions of MUFG and its predecessor organizations. He also has previous experience with MUFG in New York, where he was a Director in the Americas Holdings Division in 2015, Manager of Corporate Planning for the Americas from June 2001 to October 2002, and a Banking Officer in Japanese Corporate Banking from April 1999 to June 2001, and with Union Bank, N.A. in San Francisco from 2011 to 2014 as a Director in Liaison Affairs.
Mr. Koike graduated from the University of Tokyo with a BA in Law and earned a Master of Science in Management from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
Executive Chairman of the board of directors for MUFG Americas Holdings Corporation and MUFG Union Bank, N.A.
Deputy Chief Operating Officer – International and Deputy Chief Executive of the Global Commercial Banking Business Group
Masatoshi Komoriya is Executive Chairman of the board of directors for MUFG Americas Holdings Corporation and its U.S. banking subsidiary, MUFG Union Bank, N.A., effective June 30, 2022. A member of the board of directors since April 2022, he is based in New York.
Mr. Komoriya is also Deputy Chief Operating Officer – International (Deputy COO-I) and Deputy Chief Executive of the Global Commercial Banking business group for MUFG. He assumed these New York-based positions in April 2022.
Prior to these appointments, Mr. Komoriya was Executive Officer and Chief of Staff for the Americas for MUFG Bank, Ltd. and MUFG Americas Holdings Corporation, which includes MUFG Union Bank N.A., MUFG Securities Americas Inc., and MUFG Fund Services (USA) LLC, since June 2018.
From May 2017 to June 2018, Mr. Komoriya was Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer for MUFG Bank, Ltd. in EMEA. During his time in EMEA, he developed his career in strategic planning, including branch network optimization in the EU continent and Brexit contingency planning.
From 2010 to 2017, Mr. Komoriya held a number of senior-level positions within The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, Ltd.’s Tokyo and London offices. He also has previous experience with MUFG in New York, where he was a Senior Manager in the bank’s Planning Division for the Americas from 2006 to 2010.
Mr. Komoriya graduated from Waseda University in Tokyo with a BA in Law, and earned degrees in Master of Laws from the University of Pennsylvania and Master of Laws (Corporation) from New York University Law School.
Interim Chief Information & Operations Officer
Ken Librot serves as Interim Chief Information and Operations Officer (CIOO) for MUFG Americas Holdings Corporation and its U.S. banking subsidiary, MUFG Union Bank, N.A. As Head of Operations & Technology for the Americas, his responsibilities include supporting core technology functions such as strategy, applications, infrastructure, enterprise architecture, technology modernization, and IT governance. In addition, he oversees Enterprise Information Security, Program Management, Operations and Technology Risk Management, Mergers & Acquisitions Integration, and Operations and Process Excellence, including both Consumer and Wholesale (payments, treasury and cash management, middle and back-office support, etc.)
Prior to his role of Interim CIOO, Ken served as Head of Operations & Process Excellence (OPE) within Operations & Technology for the Americas. This group delivers best-in-class operations support, focused on providing executive and strategic leadership for our core banking operations functions in the region, as well as developing the bank's long-term operations strategy to support the continued growth and scaling of the business.
Ken joined MUFG after nine years at Bank of Montreal where he served as Global Head of Operations. Most recently, he was responsible for the Technology and Operations organization for the United States across the Consumer, Commercial, Payments, Wealth Management and Capital Markets groups, and served as the Chief Information & Operations Officer for Global Capital Markets. He led technology, operations, data, information security, fraud, and procurement as well as the regulatory relationships in the U.S for Operations and Technology.
Over his 30+ year career, Ken has held several increasingly senior positions in global banking. Prior to joining Bank of Montreal, Ken was at Citibank, where he served as Managing Director and the Regional Head for North America Securities and Wealth Operations. Before working at Citibank, he was a Senior Managing Director at Bear Stearns & Company for Capital Markets Operations and Middle Office.
Ken holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Union College and a Master of Business Administration degree from New York University. He grew up in the New York area and resides in Manhattan, as do all three of his adult children.
Head of Corporate & Investment Banking in the Americas
Jonathan Lindenberg is Head of Corporate & Investment Banking in the Americas. Jon joined MUFG in January 2009 and went on to build the market-leading Project Finance franchise in the Americas. In 2012, he was named Head of Structured Finance and was later elevated to Deputy Head and eventually to Head of Investment Banking. He was named Head of Corporate & Investment Banking in 2021.
Prior to joining MUFG, Jon spent 18 years at Citigroup where he was Global Head of Infrastructure and Energy Finance. In this role, Jon managed the bank’s global project finance practice.
Jon holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics with high distinction from Indiana University and an MBA with highest honors from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business where he is a frequent guest lecturer in energy project finance.
Chief Audit Executive
Shirley Mangalindan is responsible for ensuring an effective Third Line of Defense for MUFG Combined U.S. Operations and MUFG Americas Holdings Corporation through the development and execution of MUFG America’s Internal Audit Plan and administrative oversight over Credit Review activities. She leads almost 400 team members who serve as trusted partners and leaders in identifying and mitigating risks for MUFG Americas.
Shirley has more than 25 years of experience in internal audit, risk management, governance, regulatory compliance and Sarbanes-Oxley. She has successfully led large teams on complex strategic initiatives, on a domestic and international scale. She has audited various businesses and operations within financial services companies, resulting in a thorough understanding of bank-wide functions. She has led change and transformation initiatives and focused on operational effectiveness to build successful teams.
Prior to joining MUFG, Shirley served as a Director at KPMG in Los Angeles, providing internal audit outsourcing and co-sourcing services, including quality assurance reviews of internal audit departments. At KPMG, she managed a portfolio of large-scale projects and audits and partnered with senior management to help them achieve their strategic goals.
Shirley is active in the audit community and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Institute of Internal Auditors, and the Association of Latino Professionals for America. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Head of Global Markets for MUFG in the Americas
Bill Mansfield serves as Head of Global Markets for MUFG in the Americas. In this role, he is responsible for providing FX and interest rate risk management solutions to corporate clients and institutional investor connectivity to our origination and distribution strategy.
Products under his leadership include the full suite of Fixed Income products and Equities. Mr. Mansfield joined MUFG in April 2013 and is based in New York. He is a member of the Board of Directors of MUFG Securities Americas Inc., the MUFG Americas Holdings Executive Committee, and the Board of Directors of MUFG Securities (Canada) Ltd.
Prior to MUFG, Mr. Mansfield held leadership positions at Rabobank International, where he was Head of Global Financial Markets (GFM) Americas and CEO of Rabo Securities USA, Inc. In these roles, Mr. Mansfield was also a member of the Global Management Team for GFM and a member of the North American Management Team for Rabobank International. He has over 30 years of experience across a number of multi-national financial institutions.
A graduate of University of Missouri-Columbia, Mr. Mansfield holds series 7, 24, 79, and 63 securities licenses.
Head of Japanese Corporate Banking for the Americas
Yoichiro Nishikawa is the Head of Japanese Corporate Banking for the Americas, effective April 2022. He also holds the role of Head of Japanese Corporate Banking (East), which he took on in 2021.
Prior to this, Mr. Nishikawa was Head of Global Corporate Banking Office since May 2019. In this role, he was in charge of the global corporate banking business and foreign financial institutions (FI) business in Japan. He was also responsible for global strategic planning for both FI business and global subsidiary business.
Mr. Nishikawa served as Managing Director, Head of Planning Department in Global Corporate Banking Division for EMEA from 2016 to 2019. Based in London, he was engaged in planning and development of strategies for the global corporate banking business in the region. Mr. Nishikawa implemented various strategic initiatives and leading global and regional projects.
In his business planning and development career from 2012 to 2016, Mr. Nishikawa was involved in a number of investment and divestiture projects, including strategic investments in Krungsri (Thailand), Bank Danamon (Indonesia), Security Bank (Philippines) and a divestiture of leasing businesses in the U.S., and contributed to strengthening the bank’s business portfolio.
Mr. Nishikawa commenced his banking career in 1994 at the Mitsubishi Bank, Ltd (current MUFG Bank). He has 12 years of global corporate and investment banking experience, including corporate finance, LBO/MBO finance and M&A advisory (seconded to the group’s securities firm), followed by seven years of working in the strategic planning and development at the bank.
Mr. Nishikawa earned a Master of Business Administration degree from London Business School at University of London, and a Japan Bachelor of Arts from International Christian University.
President of Union Bank and Head of Regional Banking
Greg Seibly is President of Union Bank® and Head of Regional Banking. With more than 30 years of experience in the financial services industry, including more than 15 years in senior leadership roles, Seibly oversees Commercial Banking, Real Estate Industries, Community Banking (including PurePoint Financial), Small Business and Business Banking, Consumer Lending, Intrepid Investment Bankers, and Wealth Management businesses, as well as the bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility programs. In this capacity, Mr. Seibly provides oversight and strategic leadership for this business unit serving nearly one million individual and business clients in California, Oregon and Washington. He is also a member of the Executive Committee for the Americas.
Prior to joining Union Bank in March 2020, Seibly served as President and CEO of the Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco. Other past positions include President of Consumer Banking for Umpqua Bank in Portland; President and CEO of Sterling Financial Corp. in Spokane, Wash.; California President for US Bancorp in Los Angeles; and executive roles at Wells Fargo and Bank of America.
Seibly currently serves on the Boards of Directors of the Pacific Coast Banking School and the Consumer Bankers Association. He is also a is a past board member of both the California Bankers Association and the Washington Bankers Association.
Seibly holds a bachelor of science degree in finance from Indiana University.
Deputy Regional Executive, MUFG Americas
Ryoichi Shinke is the Deputy Regional Executive for the Americas, with oversight of Canada and Latin America operations, a position he assumed in May 2020. He is also the Senior Managing Executive Officer for MUFG Bank, effective in April 2022.
Previously, Mr. Shinke was Managing Executive Officer and Group Head, Corporate Banking Group No. 2, for MUFG Bank, where he led business promotions for Japanese global corporate clients based in Tokyo.
Mr. Shinke began his career in 1988 with Sanwa Bank, a predecessor of MUFG. In a wide-ranging corporate banking career, Mr. Shinke has also held leadership positions in finance, human resources, and corporate communications, both in Japan and abroad.
His first international assignment was in the bank’s New York office in 1994, with the U.S. Corporate Finance Group. In 1998, he relocated to Tokyo to the company’s global headquarters assuming a position in the Human Resources division, followed by an appointment in the Corporate Banking department. Returning to New York in 2007, he continued to manage Japanese corporate clients for the next four years.
Progressing through successive leadership roles, Mr. Shinke’s career included responsibilities as Executive Officer and General Manager of the Global Business Division, part of the Transaction Banking group. He also served as Executive Officer and Regional Executive of MUFG India, overseeing the bank’s business for India and Sri Lanka.
Mr. Shinke holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Management Degree from Hitotsubashi University and an MBA from Emory University. He is based in New York, NY.
CEO of MUFG Securities Americas Inc.
Yasutaka Suehiro serves as CEO of MUFG Securities Americas Inc. (MUSA), a New York-based role he’s held since April 2022.
Mr. Suehiro has more than 30 years of experience at MUFG in Tokyo, London, Hong Kong, and New York. Prior to his current role, he was Deputy Chief Operating Officer-International of Mitsubishi UFJ Securities Holdings Co., Ltd. as of December 2021.
Mr. Suehiro has served on the boards of MUSA and MUFG Securities EMEA plc (MUSE), in addition to previously serving as Deputy CEO of MUSA and CEO of MUS (ASIA). He has spent time in the New York office as Deputy CEO, starting in 2012. Prior to this, Mr. Suehiro held several roles across the business including Head of Strategic Planning, Chief Administration Officer and a Board member of London office.
Mr. Suehiro graduated from Nagoya University in Japan with a MSc. in Aeronautical Engineering. He also holds a MSc. in Management Science degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Sloan School of Management.
Chief Strategy Officer for the Americas
Mark Thumser is Chief Strategy Officer for the Americas, which includes MUFG Americas Holdings Corporation and its primary U.S. banking subsidiary, MUFG Union Bank, N.A.
Mr. Thumser is responsible for leading the development and execution of corporate strategy for the Americas and working with each line of business and support unit on their respective strategies.
Based in New York, he is a member of the Executive Committee for the Americas, the primary policy making group for the bank and holding company, reporting to Regional Executive for the Americas Kevin Cronin.
Mr. Thumser, who joined MUFG in 2012, was most recently Head of Global Corporate and Investment Banking Strategy and Business Operations. Previously, he spent 11 years at
J.P. Morgan Chase in a variety of progressively senior positions. There he helped establish the Global Corporate Bank as a new business unit and built-out the global finance support team. Before joining J.P. Morgan Chase, he began his career at Renaissance Worldwide / The COBA Group where he advised clients in technology, telecom and utility industries, and performed commercial due diligence for UK private equity firms.
Mr. Thumser holds a JD degree from Vanderbilt Law School and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Notre Dame.
Amy C. Ward
Chief Human Resources Officer for the Americas
Amy C. Ward is an innovative leader of strategic human resources with more than 20 years of experience in the financial services sector. She serves as Chief Human Resources Officer for the Americas for MUFG Americas Holdings Corporation and its primary subsidiary, MUFG Union Bank, N.A. She is responsible for overseeing all human resources strategy and functions for the company's operations in the United States, Canada and Latin America.
Ms. Ward is a member of MUFG Americas Holdings Corporation's Executive Committee for the Americas, the primary policy making group for the bank and holding company. She is based in New York and reports to Kevin Cronin, U.S CEO.
Prior to joining MUFG in 2017, Ms. Ward spent 18 years at PNC Financial Services, Inc. in a number of HR leadership roles. Most recently she served as Senior Vice President/Senior HR Business Partner Executive where she provided strategic HR leadership and counsel to the company's Retail Banking, Asset Management, Corporate & Institutional Banking, and CIO/Treasury businesses.
Ms. Ward holds a Master of Science degree in Human Organization Science from Villanova University and a Bachelor of Science Degree in labor and industrial relations with a minor in business from Pennsylvania State University.
